Billie tosses a few things into her overnight bag and runs a brush through her hair before tossing it in as well. All her stuff for class was already in office so not much to worry about there. She walks into the living room to tell Karen and Arthur she is staying with a friend tonight and they are arguing about jelly beans so she just sneaks out without their notice. The air outside is nice as she makes the short walk to Hugh’s place. When she reaches his door she knocks and then her nerves decide to kick in as she waits for him to answer.

Hugh finishes shoving some paper plates in the trash as he hears a knock at the door. He rushes over, and opens the door. “Hey, Billie. Come in. Sorry, i didn’t get a chance to finish cleaning.” He had actually goten up one minute before she arrived. “Uh, as you know, the living room’s to the right, and the only bathroom’s connected to my room, sorry. And you can put your stuff down either on the table or in your makeshift room.”

Billie smiles when he opens the door, she can tell he was just rushing about to pick up despite her saying it’s fine. On a whim she tosses her arms around him, nonchalantly hugging him, even though she never has before that night. “Thanks for letting me crash here,” she tells him as she walks in and sets her bag by the couch. She pulls her shoes off and leaves them by her bag too, might as well get comfortable now. “Have you eaten yet? I can whip something up if you want,” she asks him as she walks into the kitchen where he wandered to. She sees some stuff on the table that he must have been working on before she got here.

“Oh, no, it was just a snack.” He chuckles sheepishly as he puts away the remnants. “I’m not starving, maybe a 6.5 on the hunger scale, but if you want food my kitchen’s open. I have some ingredients that are unused because… i don’t know how to cook a meal.” I walk over to the fridge, and ask her if she’d like a drink.

She laughs and goes back to the living room to leave her sweater in there, why in the hell she was even wearing one, she’ll never even know. It’s much cooler now, she’s just wearing a tank top and some jeans, nothing much. “I’ll make something small then, I’m not super hungry either. Maybe a 5.5 on this scale you mentioned. And I’ll drink whatever you’re having,” she smiles at him as he opens the fridge and rummages around. Billie leans against the counter, thinking of something quick to make for them munch on, as she still watches him from where she is.

Hugh’s rummaging through his fridge, and gathers up all of his drinks. “As for alcoholic, we have some red wine, and some… boxed Merlot.” He obviously had high tastes. “And for non-alcoholic, i have some sparkling water, a few different sodas, and what i believe is apple juice. It’s been too long to tell.” he sets them out on the counter, and grabs to glasses from the fridge. “Choose whichever you like!”

“I’ll go with the red,” she tells him as she steps towards him to reach into the cabinet behind him for a glass. “I’ve missed you. Finals has nearly every swamped and I feel like I’m the only one not drowning. It’s probably because I teach Music and Environmental Science,” she says as she pours a glass of red wine. She notes how close she is to him but doesn’t dwell on it, everyone knows she over thinks by this point.

He grabs a the wine bottle after she sets it down, and pours himself a glass. “Eh, just because you teach those classes doesn’t mean you have less work. In my music classes, I had homework every night. The reason you’re not under stress is because you’re such a good teacher.” He smiles as he take a sip out of the glass. “So, why are you sleeping on your office?”
